Too much campaign coverage is crappy — credulous, overheated and unenlightening. FiveThirtyEight was founded to help remedy that (or at least to try), and as the 2016 election gets going, we’re looking for a chief political reporter to help us continue that mission.
You don’t need crazy data skills. You do need experience reporting on a presidential election for a national outlet and the clips to prove you can tell interesting, illuminating campaign tales. We want someone to go out on the trail; follow the candidates, campaigns and media; and bring skeptical, empirically based stories back for our readers.
If you’re interested, please send a note to micah.cohen@fivethirtyeight.com, and include a résumé and a link to your work.
