The Voters: Who Is Leaning Democratic?

For the past several months, I’ve been traveling around the country talking to people about the issues that concern them and how they plan to vote in the presidential election. So has Asma Khalid, a politics reporter for NPR. We’ve teamed up for three conversations about those experiences, which are publishing in the FiveThirtyEight Elections podcast feed. In this, the second episode, we talk about some of the demographic groups that strongly support Democrats. In the previous installment, we tackled Republican-leaning groups. We’ll wrap it all up next week with a discussion of undecided voters.

Among the groups of Democratic-leaning voters we discuss in this episode are Muslim-Americans, Mexican-Americans and tech-industry workers.
