Climate Challenge Update

Somewhat disappointingly, I did not get any qualifying participants willing to accept my weather challenge before Monday’s deadline. Granted, the universe of people who were in a position to accept is not all that large, since it was limited to people who write for fairly large blogs or websites. I did get a few feelers, most notably from Tom Maguire at JustOneMinute.com, who was willing to take the wager provided that we made the location Minneapolis, rather than his hometown of New York. This was smart of Tom, since Minneapolis is one of the few areas of the country projected to have below-average temperatures over the next 30-60 days. Unfortunately, I am smart too, so I turned him down. You can read more of the friendly exchange we had at his site.

However, all may not be lost, as there was one straggler that came in a few hours after the deadline on Tuesday morning that I’m still in negotiations with. Should have an update soon. (And yes, it’s definitely too late to accept any bets now. Maybe next month, though.)
