What Went Down In Elections In Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont And Connecticut

A short update from Connecticut: We only have about 16 percent reporting in the Republican primary for Senate, but so far Leora Levy is leading with 51 percent of the vote. Her branding offers a little more to the earlier conversation about old vs. new GOP members (or whether that distinction ends up being anything tangible). She often positions herself as a businesswoman outsider, not unlike a handful of “new GOP” candidates who compare themselves to Trump: savvy corporate leaders, rather than seasoned politicians. The thing is, however, Levy is at least somewhat entrenched in the GOP orbit, after serving on Connecticut’s Republican National Committee since 2016 and receiving Trump’s nomination to serve as ambassador to Chile in 2019 (although that never came to a vote in the Senate).
