What Went Down In Elections In Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont And Connecticut
Filed under 2022 Election
It’s not Aug. 2 anymore, but we’re still dealing with the fallout from the primary vote in Washington, an all-mail voting state that takes a while to report its votes. In Washington’s 3rd District, Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler has just conceded defeat after falling narrowly behind Trump-endorsed GOP challenger Joe Kent for second place in the top-two primary (a Democratic candidate finished first). This means House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump are now 2 for 5 in primaries this cycle, while four others retired. Just Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney is left to go this primary season, and all signs are pointing to a defeat for her, too.
