What Went Down In Elections In Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont And Connecticut

I continue to be mildly shocked by the fact that even though it’s so liberal, Vermont has never sent a woman to Congress. (It’s the only state with that dubious honor.) It’s kind of hard to believe that in the 200+ years Vermont has been a state, a woman has never been elected to the House or Senate. It’s probably due to a combination of factors — there aren’t many opportunities to run in small states with only a few seats, and the state pipeline for women might be weak — but I’m curious if anyone else knows why this is!
