FiveThirtyEight
Geoffrey Skelley

Sarah, I think Republicans will have to keep placing their hopes on state-level offices, because it’s very unlikely that Democrats will lose a Senate seat in Vermont. FiveThirtyEight’s partisan lean metric places it about 28 points to the left of the country as a whole, making it the third-most Democratic state in the country. We’re also talking about a state that has elected independent socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders three times in races that were anything but close (and many times before that to the House).
