Please get up, please get up.
Please no.
Klay looks to be in considerable pain.
Oh no …
I mean, he would shoot well wherever he is, of course. But it’s hard to imagine him without Curry.
ANOTHER injury for the Warriors???????
Klay down, and looking hurt.
I don’t think he’ll ever be THE guy on a team. And he shouldn’t be.
What does Klay look like on another team, Sara? He strikes me as a kind of supersized version of Iguodala — if he’s *the* guy on a team, it could all go sour.
Everybody assumes Klay will re-sign because all he cares about is his dog and going to the beach and making threes.
Is now a good time to bring up my idea that all shooting fouls in the NBA should be worth a single 2-point free throw, thus an and-one would actually be an and-TWO? Ok maybe not.
How could they not do whatever they have to do to keep him??
We’ve barely talked about Klay’s free agency.
Honestly, pay Klay whatever you have to.
Are there stats for the players who are best at finishing a basket when fouled? Kawhi seems like he’s gotta be up there.
28 for Klay, 17 for Steph. Splash away, guys!
KLAY.
That was one of the best passes of Ibaka’s career.
Just as things were starting to turn against the Raptors, a big bucket (and-1) by Kawhi.
ANOTHER and-one for Kawhi!
Did I mention I like watching Steph?
Chris, Klay has had two terrible Game 6s (2016 vs Cleveland and this year vs the Clippers) that drag his averages down.
Six ties and 15 lead changes, Chad — idk where that ranks historically nearly through the third quarter, but it feels pretty good right now.
Well both of them, Micah.
You mean Klay, Nate?
Why does it feel like Steph shoots 80 percent from three when you’re watching him when it’s actually “only” 44 percent or whatever?
That’s a lie Chris. He averages at least 40.
It’s so weird: The ESPN Stats & Info Group sent us writers a note, pointing out that Klay only averages 18.8 PPG in Game 6s. Feels like he averages 38.8
I know we’re all caught up in the flow here, but is it just me or is this shaping up to be an all-time finals game?
Game 6 Klay is undefeated.
And Golden State is back on top!
GAME 6 KLAY!!!
I think that Klay 3 is the loudest I’ve heard it here since the series started.
Siakam does that so much, you can’t go wrong calling it out.
As you were saying, Neil.
Siakam’s finishing ability on those little drives and floaters and banks around the basket is impressive.
Eight Raptors have played so far. Five (Kawhi, Lowry, Siakam, VanVleet, Ibaka) are in double-figures. One is Norm Powell, who only halfway counts. Gasol is 0-4 with 1 point and Green hasn’t taken a shot. They need more from those two guys.
At least Draymond doesn’t have a history of being suspended for crucial finals games. Oh wait.
Have to imagine it’s something his coaches have told him, and that he knows. I imagine the refs know it, too.
One other big thing that I didn’t realize until today, but would be absolutely massive if it somehow happens: Draymond Green’s next technical foul would trigger a suspension if this series goes to a Game 7.
Lowry wanted to play LeBron or Tayshaun Prince (second liveblog shoutout!) on that chasedown, but instead picked up foul No. 4.
The Warriors are in the bonus for the rest of the quarter. They’re obviously a shooting-based team but with three Raptors in foul trouble maybe they go to the rim more often here.
Big 4th foul on Lowry there.
CURRY! 👀
When did Kawhi get 15 pts?
And now Gasol has three fouls.
Looney hit Kawhi with the cross-body block to get him back for the fractured collarbone (or whatever they’re calling it now) and Kawhi still finished it.
Was gonna type “Kawhi sunk a COLD-BLOODED three, which is appropriate given that he’s a Raptor” but then realized I was stepping into a major paleontological controversy.
Clearly, Mike Breen does read FiveThirtyEight!.
Three fouls now on Kawhi, Lowry and Steph.
