Looney looks really hobbled as they show GSW heading back to the locker room.
HOF-er DB giving us an update on KD. Says its “quite quiet” back in the locker room.
Very big close to the quarter for a Golden State team that, frankly, could REALLY use a cushion entering the second half.
Halftime!
Patrick McCaw really passed up a wide-open chance to make his former team pay (and rightly so, it led to a Siakam bucket).
Siakam on fire since being called out by Tony.
Patrick McCaw sighting!
Raptors now 2 of 10 from 3-point range. No one but Gasol has hit one.
Warriors lucky to be up 3 given how many possessions they’ve given away.
Siakam read your comment!
Ha — there you go, Tony.
Siakam has been quiet?
Raptors missing a lot of momentum-changing shots that they were hitting reliably earlier in the series.
No word as far as I can tell yet, Tony. It’s hard to imagine the Warriors taking very many chances with him, though.
Have we had any word on KD’s injury yet? Did I miss something?
Let me see if anyone has an opinion on the Toronto fans’ injury cheering. (checks Twitter) Yes, everyone does.
I do, and they definitely have.
It feels like the Raptors have reclaimed the momentum (if you believe in that kind of thing).
Gasol knocks down a three and cuts the Warriors lead to 6.
Ooof, Cousins misses both free throws, than a made three for Gasol.
I love watching Curry, but he has a number of these silly turnovers EVERY GAME.
OK, Neil, upgrading Cousins to an 83 2K rating. But he’s not going to help them on defense, and if Green is in foul trouble, he might have to play a lot of it.
And another bizarre lapse for the Warriors with a backcourt violation.
Draymond also one tech away from a one-game suspension.
The last two on Draymond were soft.
In Draymond’s defense, that was soft.
I know that edge makes him who he is, but man.
Draymond got T-ed up.
Draymond’s composure is so bad.
Put-back layup on one end, block on Kawhi on the other.
And how about the effort from Boogie after KD was hurt??
Kawhi averaged 12 free-throw attempts per game in the series before Game 5. He has six tonight after drawing that foul.
Not a fantastic game for Kawhi yet, but he’s moving around better than he has in a while.
Couple of great defensive plays by the Raptors, overcoming what had been a pretty dreary stretch in which they looked a little deflated, but it doesn’t help much after a 4-point play for Curry.
That’s the second time he’s caught FVV on a three.
And Curry has another 4-point play chance.
Lowry blocks Cousin’s 3-point attempt. (Yes, you read that correctly.)
Sara, that is a GREAT question. Often it seems like it’s just whichever team is on the most recent run, but things equalize more often than not.
Do big leads actually exist in the NBA?
Credit to the Warriors for building the lead after what happened with Durant.
This is a big lead.
Interesting. ESPN’s live win probabilities have the Warriors at 73 percent.
Live betting markets have the Warriors as only ~62 percent to win despite an 11-point lead. Pretty clearly pricing in a big impact from KD’s re-injury.
With the Warriors being so cryptic about the KD injury, it’s hard to say if KD really came back too soon or if it was just an unfortunate thing that happened on the court. With that said, I think KD came back too soon.
A double-digit lead for the Warriors despite it all.
Ummmm, Cousins? 👀
Boogie with the three!
(And there’s no guarantee that happens. Warriors are up 8 now.)
But if the Raps do end up using this to win, it won’t do anything for the perception that the title was against a lessened Warriors team, and that they were losing in the moments when the “real” Warriors were intact.
I get that too, Nate. It’s hard to be mature in the moment.
