Also Clare, to your observations on tone, Pence certainly isn’t generating as much heat on Twitter as Harris, and conversation about Harris remains more positive. If only we had a pre/post poll to tell us how people evaluate their performances.

Yeah, Clare, I am interested in this, too. I think you’re right that men and women are reading their demeanor in unique ways, but partisanship matters, too. Aggressive women are judged more harshly by people of the opposing party, according to academic studies.
