What Went Down During The Vice Presidential Debate
So there’s not as much interrupting tonight, but there is A LOT of not answering the question. I’m curious if people think it’s Page’s job to try to refocus the conversation on the questions she asks. Because as is, the candidates can really just talk about whatever they want, whether or not it’s been asked.
I think I know Pence’s debate strategy. He’s spending a lot of time stalling with platitudes and maybe hoping that Page and Harris forget the question that was asked? IE, Page just asked if the American public is entitled to know about the President’s health and he has spent the past minute stalling and then Page just…moved on.
After news broke that Trump had been diagnosed with COVID-19, Morning Consult/Politico asked voters if they trusted the Trump administration to be honest about his health. Fifty-five percent of voters said they didn’t trust Trump to be honest, while 41 percent did (a 14-point difference). Meanwhile, 48 percent said they didn’t trust Pence to be honest about the president’s health, while 43 percent trusted him (a 5-point difference).
