The bigger risk in an indoor space are the smaller, lightweight particles that can float in the air and travel further while still carrying the virus. When it comes to those particles, a plastic barrier won’t have much impact. Opening a window would be more effective.

I think the VP as surrogate question is a big one here – I suspect that Pence will be very much the representative of the Trump administration, while Harris – as a kind of ticket-balancing pick for the Biden ticket – will likely be, of course, representing the ticket, but also carving out her own space as a political presence, including her sort of famous delivery that’s been on display in Senate hearings before.
