Kaine said, in reference to profiling people as dangerous based on nationality, “We should focus on danger, not on discrimination.” Trump has called for profiling in security akin to what’s used by Israel, but some security experts are doubtful that could be effective in the U.S. And many advocates oppose it on the grounds that it is discriminatory. Kaine affirmed that view, saying, We won’t determine who can enter the U.S. “based on discriminating you from the country you come from. That is completely antithetical.”
