I don’t think the RNC will make much hay with claiming that Vindman was over-interpreting the call. We have a mountain of evidence, beyond Vindman’s words, that Trump was tying aid and a presidential visit to an investigation of the Bidens.

I do think, though, as Nathaniel was saying earlier, that it’s significant that Vindman didn’t seem interested in giving ammunition to Democrats’ claims that there was a coverup around the call summary.

We’re all working fast here, so maybe my meaning was not clear, Nathaniel. I’m suggesting that of course the term “Burisma” was used on the call, and of course this was an order from Trump. I think Vindman is testifying accurately and that there was no doubt from anyone about exactly what Trump was demanding. The inclusion of “Burisma” in the call summary is important only because it casts doubt on how forthright the White House is being about the call and its implications.
