What Went Down On Day 3 Of The Trump Impeachment Hearings
Castor is diving right in and pressing Vindman on one of his most explosive claims — that Trump’s “request” that Zelensky pursue investigations was actually a demand. Castor says that Trump’s words were ambiguous, trying to take some of the fire out of Vindman’s characterization of the call.
Castor is really trying to suggest that Trump was just suggesting that the Ukrainians investigate the Bidens. As opposed to it being an instruction or a demand or an order.
Nunes referencing the Fifth Amendment was dramatic — was he implying Vindman did something wrong? Vindman testified he told two high-ranking government officials about the call, both of whom had need-to-know clearance as they worked on Ukraine policy.
