Presumably Republicans know where this impeachment thing is headed. The House will probably vote to impeach, and the Senate will probably vote to acquit. So they’re just trying to make the most of their time on TV. One way they could use that time effectively is to keep hammering at Biden’s role in Ukraine, so that if he winds up as the Democratic nominee, they can trot it out against him at every turn to undermine voters’ trust in him. It’s basically the same playbook they used with Clinton and her emails.
