I am finding Yovanovitch’s testimony very compelling – her line about the color draining from her face when she read the July 25 call transcript where she was called “bad news” was especially effective. On its own, this could get written off as just Trump being Trump. Or an example of dirty politics, maybe, but not something truly dangerous. But as part of the broader accumulation of evidence, I think it’s quite powerful. The question is if that’s how Americans will interpret it.

I’m not entirely sure the tack will Republicans will take to try and undermine her experience, but I do think one risk Yovanovitch’s testimony poses is that she does, understandably, have very real grievances against the president — she lost a job she clearly loved — and I can only presume that GOP lawmakers will jump on that as motive for her testimony today.
