What Went Down During Marie Yovanovitch’s Testimony
Absolutely, Clare. I’m not sure how much this will resonate with people who aren’t already convinced that Yovanovitch was let go unfairly, but the extent to which career State Department officials are displeased with the way the Trump administration handled her firing, and just how the department is managed more generally is staggering to me — Pompeo has a real possible mutiny on his hands.
I’ve also been wondering, generally, what all of this testimony means for high-level Trump administration figures like Perry, Pompeo, or even Barr. They don’t have a ton of options for responding, but none of them come off especially well in the evidence gathered by Democrats so far.
I’m sure Pompeo will do a huffy interview on a Sunday show, not answer the basic questions, not testify and defend Trump at all costs.
