What Went Down On Day 1 Of The Impeachment Hearings
The Democratic counsel is Daniel Goldman, who left a job as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Manhattan in 2017.
Taylor’s testimony, so far, is a striking contrast with Mueller, who answered questions pretty tersely (and sometimes confusingly) and didn’t seem to want to be speaking to Congress at all. It’s clear to see why Democrats wanted to bring in Taylor as one of their first witnesses — as others have mentioned, he’s a skillful storyteller and plainly wants to share what he knows in a compelling way.
Re: Schiff’s CliffsNotes, it makes sense that Schiff himself was conducting that line of “questioning,” since its purposes were pretty clearly political. Now he is handing the reins off to Goldman, his designated staffer.
