Taylor is now being questioned by the Democrats’ staff attorney. This is a big change from how these hearings have gone in the past, where members take five-minute turns.

One of the key questions has been when the Ukrainians learned that the military aid was frozen. Republicans have argued at times that there couldn’t have been a quid pro quo because the Ukrainians didn’t know the aid had been blocked. But that’s been pretty conclusively unraveled at this point. Several other witnesses have testified that the Ukrainians knew about the aid freeze well before it became public.
