Well, this is really going to blow your mind, Tony: It’s actually spelled “Kyiv” now.

Both Taylor and Kent have been pronouncing it “Keev.” The UEFA Champions League Final was in Kiev last year and I’m 99.99 percent sure every commentator was pronouncing it “Key-ev.” Who’s right?

Like Kent, Taylor’s started by emphasizing his bipartisan credentials. And he seems generally to be extremely well-liked and well-respected. In his deposition, Kent talked about why Taylor was called up to replace Yovanovitch, saying, “He’s a bundle of positivity and gets along with everyone and he’s a real leader.” And generally, it seems like he’s getting less bogged down in the history/diplomatic details than Kent.
