What Went Down On Day 1 Of The Impeachment Hearings
I think it’s probably a good strategy for feeding the Fox media beast. And that is a pretty important front in keeping your base in line. It’s also about making sure you’re setting standards to keep Congressional Republicans in line.
I think at the very least what that argument has going for it is that it’s building on a three-year-long theme. The first impeachment argument, based on the emoluments clause, began the day the president was sworn in.
Question for the group: Nunes, and Republicans, clearly think that connecting Ukraine to the Russia investigation, and making it all seem like one big effort to get rid of Trump is a good strategy. So, a couple questions: Is it? And a good strategy for what? For keeping Republican voters in line? For preventing swing voters from supporting impeachment?
I guess I don’t really think it works for anything beyond the GOP base.
