We had another candidate with Bloomberg’s financial resources who didn’t have Bloomberg’s shortcomings … but Steyer was even less successful. (To be fair, he had his own set of shortcomings.)

Amelia, that’s an interesting thought experiment, but I wonder if the same thing would have happened, since Booker just wasn’t catching on. On the other hand, as I mentioned earlier, name recognition does seem to have been beneficial, and maybe money can buy some of that.
