I think it’s defensible, and I’d like the Eagles to be launched into space. This comes up from time to time in the NBA, too, where it looks like a guy’s toe was on the line but because of the way the edges of shoes can extend over a plane but not touch you can’t be sure. And this edges us closer to my ideal rule anyway: Anything that looks more or less like a catch should be counted as such.
