As the Eagles start this drive, let’s talk quickly about the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, Terrell Owens and Brian Dawkins were announced as the next inductees. Moss, Lewis and Urlacher were elected in their first year of eligibility. Dawkins, the longtime Eagles safety, was in his second year. And Owens was elected in his third year, despite a deepening pool of eligible candidates at WR.
T.O. has attracted the most headlines for how his exclusion shaded the voting process: Even today, he is 2nd all-time in receiving yards (15,934), 8th all-time in receptions (1078), and 3rd in touchdowns (153). But since this is a blog about Minnesota, this is a simple reminder that Randy Moss was the greatest receiver of all time, and he made his team and quarterback better simply by being on the field, like a football Steph Curry.
