Welcome to our live blog! We’ve been waiting for tonight since September. The stars are ready to shine — evenly matched in accomplishments, with undoubtedly a few surprises up their sleeves. Whenever they hit the big stage, wherever you are, it’s bound to be magical.

Before we get to the halftime show, we have some football to watch! This matchup has had us salivating for two weeks, and it’s finally here.
On one side of the field are the Kansas City Chiefs, with a sublime offense led by its extraordinary quarterback. Patrick Mahomes is second in the league in FiveThirtyEight’s QB Elo ratings, and has jumped ahead of MVP Lamar Jackson in Total QBR thanks to his playoff performance. The Chiefs have a solid supporting cast for Mahomes and a defense that has steadily improved throughout the season.
On the other side are the San Francisco 49ers, with a balance rarely seen in Super Bowls. The ferocious defense features star cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Nick Bosa, fresh off being named Defensive Rookie of the Year. The offense relies on a multi-pronged rushing attack and the play-action of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo — when it relies on Garoppolo at all.
