Trump’s abrupt ideological zig-zagging — from paid family leave to abortion, from immigration to women’s issues — has made this a distinctly Trumpian speech. I don’t think this, unlike some of his previous speeches, is one that “could have been given by George W. Bush,” to use a common talking point.
