Nate, calling this race predictable if we end up with a Biden versus Sanders matchup is like riding a roller coaster and calling it dull because you end up where you started.

Sarah, for the last few days I’ve been wondering what candidates like Warren and Buttigieg were doing still campaigning in South Carolina. It was clear they were going nowhere fast, while a ton of more important states are voting in three days. Klobuchar, to her credit, noticed this and gave up on South Carolina a few days ago.

Sarah, to answer your question about where this leaves the other candidates, I think a number of them already know that this is not their race to win. The reasons for them to stay in are: 1) make your case at a contested convention; 2) prevent someone you don’t love from winning in your home state; 3) continue as an issue candidate. I think folks can figure out who is in which camp and what that says about when they’ll be dropping out.
