What Went Down On Health Care This Week
Johnson just said he didn’t even know it was possible for the House to go into martial law. Part of me wonders whether certain senators are being purposely naive in order to vote for something that they claim they don’t want.
I think Ryan will have a conference. But once they can’t reach an agreement (they probably can’t — you’ve been watching the last six months), the question is: Does Ryan, after some period of conferencing, say let’s vote on this Senate bill? Just because you have a conference doesn’t mean you have to change the bill from said conference.
Just because a bill goes to conference committee doesn’t mean that the committee will be successful in addressing the demands of these senators. Once the Senate passes it, the House could decide at any point that the conference committee isn’t getting anywhere and just pass the “skinny bill.”
