What Went Down On Health Care This Week

McCain says he’s looking to advice from his governor, much as Heller of Nevada has been looking to Gov. Brian Sandoval. A reminder that while Obamacare is a federal law, much of the health insurance system is run at the state level.

It strikes me as more than a little odd that in a system with so many formal rules and checks, veteran senators would need to resort to an assurance from the House speaker that is nowhere in the Constitution or the written rules by which the House or Senate operates.

As Perry said, bipartisanship seems unlikely. Notable that Majority Leader McConnell chose a process that wouldn’t require any bipartisanship.
