What Went Down In Robert Mueller’s Testimony
My running tally of big takeaways: Mueller says his report did not exonerate Trump on obstruction; that Trump can be charged with a crime after leaving office; that he was not trying to become FBI director again when he met with Trump; that (in response to Rep. Lieu) the OLC opinion was the main reason he did not pursue charges against Trump.
As Maggie Habberman notes in The New York Times, Garcia is the first to mention Roger Stone in today’s hearings. Stone is a longtime adviser to Trump, and … quite the character. He was indicted earlier this year.
Steube gave one of the most full-throated defenses of the president of any Republican today. I wonder if 45 will take note.
