I was just going to say that, Amelia. I wonder at what point he realized it would be published and if that changed anything on their end. He won’t speak to this, of course. But I agree, I find this really hard to believe.

It’s bizarre that Mueller has said (now twice?) that he didn’t expect his report to be released to the public. He wrote summaries that seem explicitly designed for public consumption. Not sure what to make of this.

As Neal Katyal notes, Mueller seems to have told Rep. Lieu earlier that but for the OLC opinion, he would have indicted Trump — and Mueller did not take it back under questioning from Rep. Lesko. Katyal says this seems like pretty big news!
