With two very elderly Democratic appointees on the court’s left wing, it’s not hard to see why Supreme Court appointments are a priority for people in both parties this year. If Trump gets a chance to replace one of those two Democratic appointees, the court — which is already quite conservative — will take an even harder right turn.

It’s really interesting to me that Trump reels off many of the same employment statistics now that he did before the virus hit, particularly as they relate to people of color. But so much momentum of has been completely wiped out.
