Trade! It’s one of the strangest political issues, in my humble opinion. For decades, both parties were basically pro-free-trade. Now both parties are divided by the issue, with the old-guard GOP being for it and the Trump GOP being against it. Obamaites are for it and Sanders supporters are against it.

Here’s another speaker from Wisconsin. I’ve lost count of how many Wisconsinites there have been at this RNC — which makes sense, given that it’s one of the most likely tipping point states in our forecast.

Good question Micah — the data I’ve seen suggests that the American shift leftward predated COVID-19, but that that one question about government “lending a hand” sure does seem to have shifted since 2019.
