Right, Micah, that’s what I was trying to get at when I said I wasn’t sure how effective this kind of pro-women message would be. I don’t think those white women have suddenly woken up post-2016 and decided that Trump isn’t supportive enough of women.

Clarence Henderson, a civil-rights activist from North Carolina, is speaking right now. I know this is pre-taped and this sounds like a broken record and all that, but this feels really strange without any mention of the protests happening in Kenosha right now.

So if the Trump campaign is trying to win back white women who voted for him in 2016, I think I agree with Dan that talking about supporting women is probably less effective than hitting issues like the economy, policing, crime, etc. These voters chose Trump in 2016, after all; the “Access Hollywood” tape had just happened, and Trump was running against the first female major-party nominee. I don’t think they’re voting on “women’s issues” (as it’s often defined).
