Burgess Owens, the third former NFL figure to speak tonight, is the Republican candidate in Utah’s swingy 4th Congressional District. With Rep. Will Hurd retiring, Owens is one of the GOP’s best bets to have a Black member of their caucus next year. (Byron Donalds in Florida’s 19th District is also a pretty safe bet to win.)

Sen. Ernst is wrong about national media “not covering” Derecho until Trump visited Cedar Rapids August 18. Here’s a story from the New York Times published the first day of the storm (Aug 10). Here’s one from the Washington Post. From ABC News. It’s simply not true (as is often the case whenever you hear claims that “the media isn’t covering X”).
