What Went Down On Night 3 Of The RNC
Joni Ernst, a pig farmer, is running against another pig farmer, Theresa Greenfield. I wrote about that race, where both women are focusing on breaking gender barriers at work to make the case that they’re qualified to handle issue areas traditionally thought of as masculine, such as the economy and national security.
Yeah, Ernst is one of the very few Republicans in a competitive race to be speaking at this convention. And it’s somewhat baffling why her race is so tight, since Iowa has turned fairly red and she hasn’t hadn’t any obvious scandals or anything. So it’s her association with President Trump that may be largely responsible.
Again, we see the perils of mostly pre-recorded coverage. I know, readers, a broken-record observation, but it really is notable.
