What Went Down On Night 2 Of The RNC
Trump has been the most anti-immigation president in recent memory. He has been proud of this, talking proudly of his efforts to clamp down on illegal immigration and trying to wind down Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. So it’s very striking to see him have a naturalization ceremony and feature that as part of his political brand.
Speaking of Trump’s character, according to a Pew poll from June, Biden is viewed as more honest, even-tempered, and is seen as a better role model and more caring, than Trump. Trump, however, leads Biden on <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2020/06/PP_06.30.20“energetic” and slightly on “courage.”
We are hearing a lot about school choice during this RNC. I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised — it’s a classic Republican policy — but it might also resonate with parents who are watching their kids prepare to go back to school virtually right now. Strikes me as a bit like the speakers from the DNC who gave their messages from empty classrooms, although the message is obviously very different.
