I largely agree with Perry. I do not think viewers will miss a parade of elected officials. Republican voters have traditionally been more skeptical of their own party leaders than Democratic voters, so even party activists may not miss them. But it hurts Republicans not to have a popular former president or any party figure as popular as Obama.
