Paul brought up national security, an issue that Republicans say they care about, a lot. According to a Morning Consult poll administered from July 31 to August 2, of all the issues polled, national security was “very important” to the largest share of Republicans (83 percent).

There is widespread public support for criminal justice reform, according to a poll from AP in June, though it’s less popular among Republicans. Still, a majority of Republicans said they were in favor of policies including requiring officers to report misconduct and prosecuting police officers who use excessive force or of racially profiling.

Yeah Clare, it was definitely a theme of the DNC that Democrats take Black voters seriously, want them to see themselves in the party and want them to vote. Republicans are rebutting that.
