What Went Down In Michigan, Washington And Other Democratic Primaries
I’m curious about what happens with Latino voters, who have been supporting Sanders over Biden. Sanders did a lot of outreach to Latino voters in states like California, and he started early — in some cases almost a year ago. Obviously California is not going to be a focus in the general election, but is that a sign that Biden needs to start thinking about his outreach game to Latinos in swingier states?
Per exit polling, Biden did better with Mississippi and Missouri voters who care more about the Democratic nominee beating Trump rather than agreeing with them on issues. This is consistent with what we saw in other southern and midwestern states on Super Tuesday. (It was also the case in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia last Tuesday.)
