What Went Down In Michigan, Washington And Other Democratic Primaries

Per exit polling, Biden did better with Mississippi and Missouri voters who care more about the Democratic nominee beating Trump rather than agreeing with them on issues. This is consistent with what we saw in other southern and midwestern states on Super Tuesday. (It was also the case in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia last Tuesday.)

It’s funny, Clare, because so much of the “how much was Clinton hurt by sexism?” research focused on the general election. But there’s been research showing that sexism hurt her in the Democratic primaries too, even though that’s gotten much less attention.
