What Went Down In Michigan, Washington And Other Democratic Primaries
This tweet from Guy Cecil, chair of Priorities USA (one of the biggest Democratic super PACs and a longtime party strategist) is pretty telling. The party establishment is anti-Sanders, wants to focus on Trump and this will be a problem for the Vermont senator in the weeks ahead. Sanders needs to win at least one state tonight and probably two to avoid a chorus of people urging him to quit.
While Michigan has been called for Biden, Sanders is still likely to pick up a decent share of the state’s 125 delegates. Based on partial results in 10 of Michigan’s 14 congressional districts (accounting for 52 delegates — plus 43 awarded based on statewide results), Biden would get 55 delegates and Sanders would get 40.
And Sanders is actually in a bit of danger of failing to hit the 15 percent delegate threshold in Mississippi. He’s at 14 percent so far in Edison’s results, and 15 percent in Decision Desk HQ’s.
