What Went Down In Michigan, Washington And Other Democratic Primaries
Biden is winning every county in Missouri so far, a state where the vote typically varies A LOT by county. His coalition is really quite robust across urban, rural and suburban areas.
Another thought as I consider what it means that on March 10, Biden is essentially the nominee: Who would have thought that the 2020 primary, packed with so many candidates, would be over before the 2016 one was? I mean, granted, I could see Sanders remaining in the race, and as we always cautioned in 2016, his mathematical path was never very good but … the drama really dragged things out that campaign!
Sanders and his team went really hard for Michigan. This is the kind of state that Sanders has suggested that he, and not other Democratic candidates, can flip in the general election. The primary electorate is different, of course. But this is a big loss for Sanders, not just in terms of delegates but in terms of his own case for being the Democratic nominee.
