Our friends at Edison Research have 89 percent of precincts reporting in Kalamazoo County in western Michigan, and they show basically a tied race there between Biden and Sanders at 48 percent apiece. This is bad news for Sanders — he beat Clinton 61 percent to 38 percent in Kalamazoo four years ago.

With 10 percent of Michigan’s Election Day precincts reporting, Biden has 52 percent and Sanders has 42 percent of the vote. More importantly, Sanders is underperforming his 2016 performance almost everywhere. However, I’m not sure these results include any early or absentee votes, which could be as much as 40 percent of total turnout.

Sanders keeps promising that he’ll get more young people to turn out. It would really help him if that happened! But it just doesn’t seem to be panning out that way.
