Probably also a lot of anti-Clinton Sanders voters there in 2016, right? (Maybe extrapolate that out to the whole state.)

It’s a slightly eccentric area, Rakich, with a lot of Dutch-American heritage, conservative but also sort of #NeverTrump/anti-establishment (it elects Justin Amash to Congress) — pretty college-educated and well-off. I’m not sure it’s an easy place to generalize, but Sanders probably needs to win there by more than 5 points to win Michigan.

Nate, it’s interesting to me that Sanders won the Grand Rapids area so decisively in 2016. It’s a pretty conservative, religious area. As a native Michigander, can you shed any light on it? Is the Democratic vote there really progressive or something?
