Illinois is the only state voting today that has other races on the ballot, like Senate, House and state legislative offices. After today, 27 states will have held their presidential voting event (primary or caucus), but only seven will have held their primaries for down-ballot offices concurrently with their presidential primaries. Alabama, Arkansas, California, North Carolina and Texas did on Super Tuesday, Mississippi did on March 10 and then Illinois today. Ohio would have been on this list but it postponed its primary.

The Associated Press is calling Illinois for Biden.

We now have partial returns in from seven Illinois counties, representing a mix of the Chicago suburbs and Downstate, and Biden is leading by more than 20 points everywhere, along with a 38-point advantage statewide. We don’t have anything in from Chicago or Cook County yet, which might actually be comparatively better for Sanders. But this isn’t looking very close.
