As Maggie just posted, we’re still waiting to see who will win the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania’s 12th District. The progressive candidate, Summer Lee, came into her race tonight with a lot of backing (financial and otherwise) from progressive groups. Nearly every progressive group (or person) we track is supporting her — Sen. Sanders, New York Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, Justice Dems, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Sunrise Movement — and also EMILY’s List. As we’ve discussed tonight, the Democratic race for Pennsylvania’s 12th District has been an expensive one. Biden won this district in 2020, so whoever wins tonight will likely represent the district in Congress. If Lee wins her primary, she will have the best chance of representing that wing of the party in November compared with tonight’s other progressives.
