This is kind of an odd conclusion to reach on a primary election night, but I feel like tonight is shaping up as a good day for the Democratic Party. They got the opponent they wanted in Pennsylvania governor, and the scandal-tarred Republican is leading in North Carolina’s 1st District, a swing seat. And Cawthorn lost — a moral victory of sorts for the Democrats who despise him.
