I actually spoke with LaRose less that two months before the 2020 election. At a time when Trump was absolutely railing against mail voting, he was defending its legitimacy in Ohio. While I think there’s been pressure on Republicans to express unwarranted skepticism about American elections since the 2020 race, LaRose has not been in Trump’s camp on the issue for a while.
